JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer, and in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures, the Human Resources Director will have direct oversight of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance functions. The Human Resources Director will also manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., payroll, benefits brokers, and staffing agencies) and review the productivity of any outsourced HR services. This position will work closely with other managers and departments, including Nursing, Finance, Facilities, Quality, and Departmental Leadership to ensure alignment of staffing needs, performance management, and organizational goals. Employees will communicate with medical staff, department heads, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, review, and enforce organizational policies and procedures surrounding human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Implement processes and procedures to optimize talent acquisition and retention, ensure timely and accurate onboarding/offboarding, and maintain compliance with employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
- Manage Recruitment, Onboarding, Employee Relations, Benefits Administration, and Compliance functions, ensuring all HR activities adhere to regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Oversee relationships with third‐party vendors, such as payroll providers, benefits brokers, and staffing agencies, monitoring service levels, accuracy of information exchange, and timely delivery of services.
- Design and lead performance management and employee development initiatives, including annual reviews, competency assessments, training programs, and leadership development, to enhance staff competency and engagement.
- Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on compensation strategies, workforce planning, and special projects related to labor costs; produce monthly HR analytics and dashboards (turnover, vacancy rates, overtime, etc.) for leadership review.
- Partner with departmental managers (e.g., Nursing, Finance, Facilities, Quality, Departmental Leadership) to analyze staffing needs, forecast workforce requirements, and align recruitment and retention strategies with organizational goals.
- Participate in Quality, Compliance, and Safety committees to communicate HR initiatives and best practices, support employee engagement and satisfaction, and promote a safe, lawful, and high‐performance workplace culture.
- Address and resolve employee concerns, mediating disputes and ensuring a positive and compliant work environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Work Experience:
- 5+ years in HR, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership preferred
- Solid understanding of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, HIPAA).
- Experience with full-cycle recruitment in a rural hospital setting preferred.
- Proven record in managing employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all HR matters.
